Enjoy delicious, authentic Greek food at the 2026 Newburyport Greek Food Festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church located at 7 Harris street in Newburyport. The Festival will run from 11:30 am – 8 pm on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th as well as 11:30 am – 3 pm on Sunday, July 26th. There will be live Greek music brought to you by OPA entertainment, on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4 – 8 pm.
I am certain that I’m not the only local resident who eats at the Newburyport Greek Food Festival three days in a row in order to try and satisfy my craving for this wonderful, homemade Greek food! Make sure to go early as certain items always sell out! You will be delighted by all the Greek entrees including: the famous Lamb Shanks, Moussaka, Pastichio, Chicken & Lamb Kabobs, Gyros, Loukaniko, Keftethes, Spinach Pie, Greek Salad, Stuffed Grape Leaves, and Fish “Plaki” (Friday Only). Coffee & Greek Pastries including Baklava, Galaktobouriko, Koulourakia, and more! Greek beer and wine are also available for purchase and of course wonderful Greek coffee, frappes and pastries for the perfect finish to this amazing Greek dining experience. A refreshing frappe (whipped up icy Greek coffee drink) has become very popular at Greek Food Festival!
You can purchase food to eat on the run, such as a Gyro, or you can take your time and sit down for a relaxing meal outside or inside the air-conditioned church hall. My recommendation to my fellow foodies, is not to wait until the last day of the Festival to visit, because some of the most popular items may be sold out!
For 2026, the Greek Food Festival will host a few Greek vendors including Taste & Art of Greece just inside the foyer of the church, a perfect place to find quality gifts. Shop for a variety of items such as: jewelry, handbags, home items, ceramics, candles, authentic Greek olive oil etc. made from Greek artisans.
Why is the food at Greek Food Festival consistently so delicious? The answer is certainly because it is prepared by a huge team of dedicated volunteers from Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, including certain folks who invest countless hours carefully preparing foods as if they were serving a meal to their immediate families. Our community is fortunate to enjoy foods prepared from coveted recipes handed down from past generations. This annual event is a major undertaking and very important annual fundraiser for the church with participation from more than 100 volunteers. You can feel good knowing that all purchases help to support a wonderful local organization and are greatly appreciated.
While the Greek Food Festival is not an official Yankee Homecoming Event, it is absolutely a very popular tradition to kick off Yankee Homecoming week. How many times will you visit the Newburyport Greek Food Festival during Yankee Homecoming to enjoy Best of Newburyport homemade Greek food?
